Please be informed that on La Gaceta No. 18, on Monday, January 25th, 2017, Scope No. 17, was published the Executive Decree No. 40141-COMEX-H: Amendments to Articles 4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 14, 25, 26, 29, 31, 35, 38, 39, 41, 45, 50, 51, 52, 53 bis, 62, 67, 68 and 76; as well as the addition of articles 67 bis, 76 bis and 122 bis to the Regulation to the Free Zones Regime Law.

May 2016. Soley Saborío & Asoc. participated in ITCR Biomedicine symposium

Soley Saborío & Asociados is continuously making efforts to strengthen the scientific research sector and with the invitation of ITCR (Costa Rica Institute of Technology) and the IPCI (Pfizer Institute for Science and Research), we participated in the "First Symposium on Biomedicine in Costa Rica: regulations and opportunities " organized by the School of Biology and Biotechnology Research Center of ITCR.

This symposium 's main objective was to explore the possibilities, and regulations on biomedical research in our country. According to digital media " Hoy en el TEC”, the invited experts discussed issues related to the participation of the private sector in biomedical research, as well as national legislation on biomedical research and the implementation of Regulation No. 39061, of the Law on Biomedical Research in Costa Rica, particularly corresponding to the role of universities, both public and private.

Sept. 2015 Executive decree No. 39136-S-MINAE, Regulations on operating conditions and emission control of the facilities for ordinary solid waste incineration

The purpose of the regulation published in the Official Gazette on September 1st 2015, is to eliminate the negative impacts on public health and the environment by regulating the operation of fixed installations for incineration as a means of treating ordinary waste generated in the country.

Incineration is a thermal treatment of waste with recovery of the heat produced by combustion. This mechanism should be the last option, upon completion of the hierarchy in the management of waste, under Article 4 of the "Waste Management Act". Furthermore, it should be subject to certain separation operations and control in order to avoid the formation of organic pollutants such as dioxins, furans and PCBs.

May 2015. Establishment of the Commission for Liaison Health, Industry and Commerce

Last April 16th, the Executive Decree number 38894-S called “CRÉASE LA COMISIÓN DE ENLACE SALUD, INDUSTRIA Y COMERCIO (COESAINCO)” (ESTABLISHMENT OF THE COMMISSION FOR LIAISON HEALTH, INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE) was published in La Gaceta, by which legally formalizes COESAINCO (for its acronym in Spanish),  in order to maintain a line of more agile communication between the Ministry of Health and the institutions and organizations representing the public and private sectors related to trade in products of health interest.
